M. A. Enniss-Trotman was born and raised in Guyana, South America. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Guyana and a master's degree from Dalhousie University. She has experience as a university lecturer and sessional instructor in Guyana and Canada. She also works in strategic planning and lives in eastern Canada with her family.
